The New Patient exam, or your first appointment with us is 30 minutes in length. You will be
required to fill out health history forms before arriving and the chiropractor will go through your
health history with you at this visit. At the first appointment, the chiropractor will do a range of
physical and neurological tests to be able to assess how they can help you.
If the chiropractor has done a full history and physical exam and it is safe to do so; you will be
adjusted on your first visit.
The chiropractors in our clinic treat every person individually. We take into consideration your
health history and how you have presented. If necessary, the chiropractor will send you for
xrays, but it is not routine for us to do so.
All of our chiropractors are ACC registered. If you have had an accident and injured yourself
then our chiropractors are able to lodge an ACC claim for you, if you don’t have one yet.
Specific criteria apply for ACC claims, but you can talk to your chiropractor about this.

No you don’t. You are able to come and see us without a referral from a doctor.
To become a chiropractor is at minimum a 5-year university degree, where our chiropractors are
trained in safety above all else. Chiropractic is safe, effective and tailored to your body. We are
trained in modifying our care depending on age and body type. Our chiropractors are fully
trained in adjusting newborns through to the elderly safely
Yes, we do! Since our chiropractors tailor our care depending on who we are adjusting, we
significantly change how we adjust babies and children to how we adjust adults. All of our
chiropractors are paediatric trained and can help your babies and children safely.
All of our chiropractors are trained in taking care of pregnant women, as this can be a very
challenging time in life, especially if you are in pain! Our chiropractors can safely take care of
you at all stages of pregnancy from conception to full term and can help promote better
alignment of the pelvis prior to delivery.
Sometimes there is the release of gas from between the joints when they have not moved in
some time, this creates the noise of the pop or click. This is perfectly normal, safe and does not
hurt.
Our chiropractors may use a hand-held instrument called an activator. It’s designed to deliver a
quick low-force impulse to joints with the goal of restoring motion to the targeted area.
The chiropractic tables that we use have drop pieces that can lift up and move. This is a
comfortable and effective way of getting you adjusted without having to wrestle or move your
body too much. The sound is very strange the first time you hear it, but the Chiropractor uses
minimal force and it helps you feel better in no time!
